Questions we hear most often.
About the offer, the method and the situations that bring founders here in the first place.
SCALED™ is a six-module method for established digital agency founders who want to fix the constraint costing the business the most right now. Each letter stands for a starting point: SHAPE™ (offer and sales), CONFIGURE™ (delivery model), AUGMENT™ (Human:AI capacity), LEAD™ (ownership), EXAMINE™ (execution reliability) and DECOUPLE™ (founder dependency).
You start with one module, the one with the highest commercial consequence right now, and move to the next only when it makes sense. Each module follows the same workflow: diagnose, design, build, hand off. You receive a finished operating asset your team can run without us.
You do not have to know. The 30-minute discovery call is designed to find the one pressure point with the biggest commercial consequence right now. We look at where sales, margin, capacity, execution or founder dependency is costing the business the most and identify the first move that makes sense.
If you prefer to explore before booking a call, the SCALED™ diagnostic on this site asks 13 questions about how your business works today and gives you a recommended starting point in about 5 minutes.
It depends on the module. LEAD™ delivers in 2 to 3 business days. CONFIGURE™ delivers in 5 to 7 business days. AUGMENT™, EXAMINE™ and DECOUPLE™ deliver in 3 to 5 business days. SHAPE™ takes 2 to 3 weeks because offer design requires more rounds of diagnosis and refinement. All timelines run from the point we have what we need from you to begin the work.
A finished operating asset your team can implement straight away. Depending on the module, that could be an offer blueprint with clear buyer, promise, scope and pricing logic, a complete delivery operating model, a clear human:AI composition for one role (what AI owns, what stays human and why, and what the role is worth based on the value of the human layer that remains), an ownership layer for one existing process, a workflow diagnosis and repair plan, or a founder dependency map with a replacement design for the first three dependencies.
Every module ends with a handoff session where we walk your team through what was built and how to use it.
You start with one. The whole point of SCALED™ is to fix the constraint that matters most right now. You choose the module that fits your situation, we deliver it, and you implement it. If it makes sense to work on another constraint afterward, that conversation happens then.
Once the module is delivered and handed off, your team owns it. There is no ongoing dependency on us by design. If you want support while your team beds in what was built, SCALED™ Support is available as a monthly retainer. It covers one monthly consultation, a review of what is happening in practice, support with questions directly related to the delivered work and one focused refinement where needed. It is available only after completing a module.
A consultant typically stays involved, advises over time and builds dependency on their presence. An operations manager joins the team, takes on a role and becomes part of the overhead. SCALED™ does neither.
We design and build one specific operating asset, hand it off cleanly and leave. Your team runs it. That means a fixed scope, a clear result and no ongoing dependency on us. It is also faster and cheaper than either option for solving a specific structural problem.
Ownership is a design problem, not a mindset problem. Most teams complete tasks well but still bring decisions, exceptions and edge cases back to the founder because nobody told them what they are allowed to decide, what the outcome should look like, or when to escalate. Until those three things are clear, asking for ownership is asking people to guess.
Define the outcome someone is accountable for, give them the authority to make the normal decisions required to achieve it, and let those decisions stand.
Most founder judgment is built from years of client work, trade-offs and repeated situations. It feels impossible to transfer because it feels instinctive. Start with real decisions, not a documentation project.
Look at the moments where your team says "I need to ask you" and trace what you are actually noticing when you make that call. What signals are you reading? What risk are you protecting against? Turn those patterns into decision principles your team can use. The goal is to stop making your thinking the only place the operating logic lives.
Documentation and ownership are two different things. An SOP can describe every step of a workflow and still leave unclear who is accountable for the outcome, who owns the transition between steps, and what happens when reality does not match the document.
Things fall through the cracks at the transitions, when work moves from one person to another and nobody officially owns the gap. The fix is usually defining one clear owner per outcome, making handoffs explicit rather than assumed, and building a way to notice when something stalls before it becomes a problem.
AI added to a broken workflow makes the workflow faster but does not fix it. If ownership is unclear, handoffs break and the founder still reviews everything, AI generates more work for the same constraints. The other common pattern is that AI speeds up production but the time saved disappears into checking and correcting the output.
Capacity and margin improve when AI is built into a specific workflow with clear human and AI roles, defined quality standards and a way to measure the before and after.
Because the delivery model was designed for the clients you had when you were smaller. As volume increases, each new client adds coordination, exceptions and founder touchpoints because the underlying model requires it. Growth reveals the structural gaps: unclear roles, informal processes, custom exceptions that became the norm, and quality that depends on senior people being close to everything.
The fix is to redesign the delivery model so it can absorb more clients without proportionally more complexity, with clear roles, a repeatable backbone and a defined place for AI and automation.
Price comparison usually signals that the offer is not differentiated enough for the right buyer to see why it is worth more. When prospects compare you on price, they are telling you they cannot see what makes you the better choice for their specific situation.
The work is to rebuild the offer around a clear buyer, a specific problem and a promise the right client recognizes immediately. That changes the sales conversation from how much to when can we start.
Sometimes it is a structural problem. Responsibility moved but authority did not. The person coordinates, prepares and follows up, but the founder still decides. If the answer to what they are allowed to own is the work but not the decisions, the structure is the problem and it can be fixed.
Sometimes it is something else. Some founders find that stepping back feels uncomfortable in a way that has nothing to do with the team. Being needed feels like being valuable. Every decision that comes back to you is proof that you are still essential. That pattern is harder to see in yourself, but it is worth looking at honestly. Building a business that runs without you in the middle does not make you irrelevant. It changes the level at which you create value.
